Xiaomi has announced a new program to help recycle old and unused goods. The ‘Mi India End of Life Product Take back and Recycling Program’. Which adheres to the E-waste (Management) Rules, 2016 will be taking your recyclable electronic products. Interested people can donate items such as mobiles, power banks, speakers, headphones and more electronic items which are in the state of discarding after usage.
Xiaomi is also offering a discount of Rs 100 to its consumers who wish to donate their electronic products for recycling.
Xiaomi will be accepting products which have reached the ‘end of life’ and are no longer operational. Xiaomi says that this program does not promise any kind of support for damaged or faulty products in terms of repair or exchange.
Whoever wishes to enroll into this program needs to have a Mi Account. After logging into their Mi Account, one needs to fill out the e-waste recycling form. Xiaomi will send an authorized e-waste recycler to pick up the e-waste which will take place within 15 days since the time of request.
Xiaomi’s e-waste management solutions are currently being offered by TES-AMM for this program. One can drop the e-waste on their own too at any Xiaomi servicing centre. Xiaomi will accept any of the electronic products sold in India and of any brand or company. Xiaomi advises that all personal data be erased from the devices before depositing them.
